I really liked this article. It was one of the few articles that I have enjoyed. It was so good because it is something that I can relate to. It was a very informative article. I learned about how to avoid being embarrassed in public by having your conversation overheard and how to not be hurt by cell phones. I will actually try to do some of these things. It is really cool that someone has devoted this much time into trying to educate people about the harmful acts of cell phones. I will try to not sleep with my cell phone and not carry it in my poacket because it is harmful. Neither will I blame other people for dropped calls. That is also bad because a lot of the time, it is actually your fault. That would be sad if you blamed someone for hanging up on you when it was your fault. It is actually amazing that such little things can cause a lot of damage in the long run. It makes sense that if you are in an area that has bad coverage, you are more succeptable because the cell fun is working harder. I like this article a lot. I learned a lot about proper cell phone etiquette. I didn’t even know that there was such a thing before reading this artcile. Cool!

This article really upsets me. I understand that the Igeneration is becoming extremely technological, but is that really that bad of a thing? I believe that it is good. We are saving the earth by using less paper. Honestly, the other generations that are saying that we are going to fail at life, because we have no patience when having conversations need to stop. I think that it is just a parent thing, becuase I am sure that their parents used to say the same thing about their generation. The truth of the matter is that people are afraid of trying new things. People just need to give us a chance. We haven’t even done anything wrong. We are doing everything that they tell us. We go to school, study, and we do our best to make them happy. Some of us are even smarter that our parents. Plus, we aren’t the only people who use technology. Businesses are also using technology. It is becoming a way of everyones life. It just really makes me mad when old farts say that we are going to fail due to expecting immediate answers or whatever. We will be fine, I promise. But as I say before, I think that this is just something that every parent worries about for their children.

3. If people are not interested in using the internet and think that it is a waste of their time, the government should definantly give them internet anyway. I say this becuase our world is becoming basically dependent on the internet. If people have something, then they are more likely to give it a shot. Plus many people say that they are not interested in using something just to cover up the fact that they can’t afford it. I just think that we should not give it to them now, because we are in a great economic depression and we can’t really afford it today.
6. The fact that people are not willing to adopt to using the internet is an issue. The government should fix this. The world and our economy is becoming dependent on computers and the internet. People can now buy stocks, pay bills, even apply for a job online. If you don’t know how to use the internet, then you are falling back. People don’t want to hire you if you don’t know how to do this stuff. The government should definantly do something about this so that our economy does not suffer even more than it already does.
Reflection:
People are complaining about the cost of internet access. I understand that it does cost a lot of money, but it is vital that people use the internet. You almost have to these days if you want to be successful. If you are worried about not having enough money to pay for internet access and for T.V, you should choose the internet, because you can watch T.V. on the internet. You can do almost anything on the internet. It is required that you know how to use it for almost all jobs. Unless your goal is to be stuck working for McDonald’s your entire life, you need to be able to use computers. Actually, you couldn’t even do that well considering the whole time you are using one when you are taking orders. You definantly couldn’t be a manager of a McDonald’s, because you have to pay people on the computer and stuff like that. You have to be able to use the internet because everything is on the internet. Someone needs to fix this because it is vital.

1. The author of this article suspects that movie ticket prices are about to jump to outragious prices. This is because the economy is down, and they aren’t doing as good as they used to either. It may also be argued that they know poeple will pay the price. If someone wants to go see a 3d movie, they will pay the price that is set. If they price goes up only a couple of dollars, most people may not even notice the difference. The 3d movie companies have the consumers hooked. When they produce Avatar, everyone I know went and saw it. They raised 2.5 billion dollars on this film. Yes, I said a BILLION!!! When you make a movie that is that good, you have that power to name your price.
4. 3-D movies are famous for really connecting with the audience. If they make a sad 3-D movie, then the theatre would be flooded with tears. I love 3-D movies, becuase I find that I can understand more of the story line. They really do connect with the viewer. But the question is, how do they connect with the reader so much? I believe that it is because of the fact that they are 3-D. Movies already connect with the reader, but when you make it have an extra deminsion, it feels like you are in the movie. People can’t help but to be connected when there is a 3-D character staring at you.
Reflection:
Ticket prices are going up. As we all know, the economy is suffering. This brings us to the question of why? There are many possible reasons, but no one knows for sure. I believe that the movie companies have almost brain washed us. We are hooked on these movies. We are going to pay whatever price they set because if the movie is good, you almost have to go see it. When a company owns the most popular thing around, they have the ability to name their price. I wouldn’t say that there is a monopoly in the movie industry, becuase there are many companies in the movie industry. One company is not running it all. Maybe the ticket prices are going up, becuase the economy is down and the movie companies are hurting just like the rest of us. Another theory is that it costs the movie company a lot of money to make these movies and they aren’t making enough money. With the exception of Avatar and Alice In Wonderland, movies don’t always do that well in the theatres. If the movie companies keep coming out with good movies and they continue to do successful, then I believe that they are being smart by raising the ticket prices.

Back during the Civil War, many men were confused about what was more important in life. They could not decide if it was more important to go away and fight in the army or worry about caring for their families. Many men left their homes and joined the military. I personally believe that this is needed. We have to have people to support our country and to fight for our beliefs. But it is also very important that a young boy has a dad to teach him to become a man. I know personally how hard life is when your dad is not around. It really makes it hard for a boy to grow. I don’t know if it is the same for girls, but for guys, it is a necessity to have a dad to make you a better man. He is there for you in your times of need and he is there for you if you have any questions about life. My dad has gone to Iraq to fight many times. He is out of town a lot too. It is really hard for my family to live our normal lives when he is not around. These families in the Civil War were without fathers for a long time. Many of them died. This was extremely difficult on the families. But then again, it is absolutely imperative that we have those brave men and women out on the battle field protecting not only their families from harm, but also saving the lives of many Americans. So I believe that it is okay for people to go away at war and leave their families to a certain point, but they must keep in mind how important they are to their families back home. Without a dad, a young man is weak, undisciplined, and lacks the qualities of a good man.

The article that I read was about the NCAA Basketball Tournament this year. Man, it sure has been interesting. There was not a single person in the world who geussed even the first round to go as planned. How can you? How can someone say the the number 5 seed Butler is going to go to the Final Four when to do that, they will need to beat number 1 seeded Syracuse and number 2 seeded Kansas State. Perhaps one of the biggest upsets this year was number 1 seed overall, Kansas, losing to number 9 seeded Northern Iowa. This article was about how unusual this tournament has been. Some people are thinking that the Final Four will be extremely bad this year. But I agree with the author when he said that people are just confused. Sure, there is not a single team in the Final Four this year that has been ranked number 1. Duke, the only number 1 seed left, was barely in the top 5. But I think that this just makes the game all the more exciting. Perhaps people need to not think about how there is not a top dog left in the tournament. People should think about how exciting it will be for their to be upsets. I love upsets, unless it is my team that gets upseted. Or perhaps we are totally looking at it wrong. These teams that were selected to go to the tournament are good. They are very diserving of their spots. So there isn’t really a bad team in the tournament. They are all extremely good. I think that people often forget that. When they see that their is a number five seed in the Final Four, they think that their will be bad games and teams. But the truth is that they are all very good. People need to just be open to new things.

1. There are many things that a state could do that could be considered depriving someone of their liberty. Many people also believe that this happens all the time. That is why there are so many cases in court for this. For example, the state could say that a certain job is illegal. Just like in this article, it was illegal in Oklahoma for people to float horse’s teeth. Why would someone make a law like that. I can understand why it is illegal for people to sell their bodies for money and stuff, but this is outragious.
5. Should you have to have a license to do work like teeth floating? NO!!! People should be able to pay each other for whatever they want. It is there money and it is their personal life. Who does the government think that they are trying to take away people’s freedom? If I want someone to come to my house and work on my horse’s teeth, then I should be able to do that. Notice that I said my horse. I did not, however, say the government’s horse. It is mine and if I want my horse to have good teeth, then I should be able to have that happen.
Reflection:
I personally believe that this article should never have had to be written. Not that it was a bad article, but the topic is stupid. I am not trying to degrade the author, but I just believe that there should not be and issue with people not being able to float a horse’s teeth. Why should that be illegal? That is just the same as making it illegal for dentist’s to do their jobs. The only difference is that the horse’s are animals and people are not. But honestly, why is it such a big deal for people to be able to pay people to do whatever it is that they want? Why should I not be able to hire someone to come and fix my horse’s teeth? It’s my money, my horse, and it should be my decision. There is also no need for the teeth floater to have to have a license to do his job. It is just unbelievable how loosely the constitution is being interpreted. Our government is trying to hard to have control of people. People just need to calm down a little bit and let things go back to the way that they were back when America had just gained their independence. Back then, you could do almost anything that you wanted for money, because we feared becoming like England. Where did that mentallity go?

1. If you think about it, all wars, battles, and conflicts are over ethics and religion. Ever since the beginning of time, people have fought. The only reason that people fight is over differences. People tend to believe that what they believe in is the only right thing. They try to persuade others to be like them. For instance, when Adolf Hitler was the ruler of Germany. He felt that the Jewish people were inferior and were the cause of Germany’s great depression and inflation. He naturally thought that he was better and that the Jesa did not think the same way as him. He felt that he was right and that they were wrong.
3. It is amazing that these two families did not hate the people who injured their kids. I wish that everyone could be that way. It is not good to always want to get revenge. Violence is not the answer to anything. These two families were able to get over the fact that their kids will never be the same. They realized that there is nothing that they can do to change the past. So why should they waste their time trying to get back at the people who hurt their kids. All that they would be doing is setting a bad influence for their kids and then wasting the time trying to get revenge instead of healing their kid.
Reflection:
I think that it is amazing that these people were able to get along even though they were so different. People do say that opposites attract, but if you think about it, differences also cause all fights. Think about it. Have you ever been in a fight? The answer is yes. My next question is why? Why did you fight with that person? The answer is probably something like because they had a different point of view or belief than me. This led to us fighting. You are naturally going to want to prove that you are right in an argument. It is very rare to find a person that is going to agree and give up what they believe all the time. If they do do this, then they usually have to go to counceling. That just proves that it is unnatural to give up in what you believe. If we are going to send you to counceling, then that usually means that something unnatural is going on. It is also amazing that these families did not want revenge on the people who hurt their kids. If someone wanted to hurt me and my family, I would want revenge. These families are very smart and wise in doing what they did. They were smart enought to not waste their time with getting even and doing what is important in making their kid as healthy as possible. These families showed some great composure and maturity when they did not freak out or do anything that most people would have done. Well done.

4. The American govenment usually turns to the police to hadle public problems. They are in charge of handling public issues. If America wasn’t lacking ancient guilds, this may not have been true. France is not lacking Ancient Guilds, so the have different ways of solving public issues. Their public issues are solved by different sets of people. France has certain people that take care of wild animals and others that take care of public law violations in general. In America, the Police handle everything that has to do with public issues. If America had the same issue with public animals, we would probably have the police take care of them. It may have been different if we would have a little bit more history.
5. The French government is not able to tell the lieutenatnts de louveterie what to do. Now why is this? I personally believe that this is because the lieutenants de loiuveterie were formed thousands of years ago. They were originally organized to protect civilians from the many wolves that were invading France. The members have continuosly taken oaths to not kill domestic animals and to stick to dangerous animals. They don’t want to change the way that things have always been. If the U.S. government decided to hire contractors, they would be able to tell them what to do, because America does not have as much history as France. People would not be upset about having to change things, becuase they would have never been around anyway.
Reflection:
It is absolutely crazy the their is an issue with too many cows and pigs freely roaming the cities near and in France. I can’t believe that the members of the lieutenants de louveterie are not wanting to get control of this issue. Their job is to protect civilians from dangerous animals. They are not trying to control these because they are “domestic”. They argue that they are only following their oath. The oath states that they can only kill invasive species. They problem is that that oath has not changed since around 800 A.D. That was over one thousand years ago. Do you not think that circumstances have changed since then? These members should be open to change, becuase civilians are being injured. These pigs and cows are causing people to crash into them. One time, a bull fell off of a cliff and into a bar. How absurd is that. Something must be done. How can these people who are in charge of keeping civilians safe just sit there and let these happen? Not just that, but they refuse to do anything. It’s not like they are unaware of the issue, but they don’t want to help. These people need to get their priorities straight.

Reflection:
Why should a teenager care about the graying of America?
Well, teenagers should care about the graying of America because it will effect them later on in life. The only problem is that the information that we recieve about the graying of America is hard for us kids to understand. It is in words that don’t make since to us. No one tries to explain this to us either. We should still attempt to learn about it, because we will all have to deal with it at sometime. We need to take that extra step now, so that when we grow up, we will be able to survive. If kids take that extra step now, then they will be able to have a head start on the other children of the world. It is better to learn the material now, so that it doesn’t come back to bite you when it counts.
